Young people
The evaluation of Blueprint – what will we find out?
The evaluation of the Blueprint programme was an enormous exercise in its own right working across 12 streams of research.
It worked with young people, parents, teachers and others involved in the programme to answer questions around the delivery and possible effects of an evidence-based programme such as:
- does Blueprint work as a teaching resource from the viewpoint of teachers?
- is Blueprint an interesting, useful and credible learning resource from the viewpoint of young people?
- does Blueprint increase the quality and quantity of communication about drugs between young people and parents?
- do young people in Blueprint schools have a more accurate perception of the real figures about teenage drug use?
- how was each part of Blueprint delivered and are there lessons for minimising the challenges involved in the working of such a programme?
Final reports
The report Blueprint drugs education: the response of pupils and parents to the programme (new window) is available on the University of Stirling website. The executive summary is available on this website.
The delivery and practitioner reports were published in November 2007.
