Partners In Reduction - Engaging and Involving Families in the Reduction of Substance Related Problems in Prison
the findings from a programme of consultation undertaken for the Prison Service in 4 discrete, and diverse, geographical areas using a range of semi-structured individual interviews and group discussions.
Consultation was conducted with a total of: 41 non-imprisoned family members; 54 prisoners; a range of multi disciplinary staff from 13 prisons; staff from 14 community based drug/alcohol/family service provider agencies; 12 key policy making and influencing agencies and departments.
A review of international literature relating to family interventions in substance misuse was carried out.
