The Tyneside Cyrenians GAP Project
The Tyneside Cyrenians GAP Project was established in 2006 to engage with a hidden and vulnerable group of adult women involved in sexwork and/or subjected to sexual exploitation. The Project was also intended to inform the local prostitution Strategy in Newcastle-Upon Tyne.
The GAP Project provides a holistic service with the aim of addressing a wide spectrum of personal, social, and economic needs. Particular focus is placed on assessing mainstream services such as drug and alcohol treatment, physical sexual and mental health, housing, benefits, domestic violence and Criminal Justice.
