Around arrest, beyond release
A report from the Drug Interventions Programme (DIP) on the experiences and needs of families in relation to the arrest and release of drug using offenders. This report builds on previous consultations and feedback from families through the National Offender Management Service, Drug Strategy Team (NOMS DST) and the National Treatment Agency for Substance Misuse (NTA).
Their combined findings highlighted issues for families of drug misusing offenders at points in the Criminal Justice System (CJS), particularly at arrest and on release. DIP subsequently commissioned work including the production of a report to explore these issues in more detail and identify a checklist of action.
