World Health Organisation

The World Health Organisation (WHO) develops data on substance use for policy makers and health professionals in Member States. Through their research, WHO aims to fill gaps in drugs knowledge, particularly with respect to developing countries.

The WHO also operates the Global Initiative on Primary Prevention of Substance Abuse project with the United Nations International Drug Control Programme (UNDCP). The project supports local partners from Central and Eastern Europe, Southeast Asia and Southern Africa in reducing substance use and abuse among young people.
