Government Offices for the Regions
The Government Offices for the Regions (GOs), and their corporate centre, the Regional Co-ordination Unit (RCU), are playing an increasingly pivotal role at the heart of Government. Government Offices' responsibility for delivering policy in the regions, and their multi-Departmental constitution, makes them ideally placed to implement crosscutting initiatives, and to advise Departments on successful implementation strategies at regional and local level.
There is a regional Government Office drug team in each of the nine offices based in London (new window), Birmingham (new window), Manchester (new window), Leeds (new window), Newcastle (new window), Cambridge, Guildford (new window), Bristol (new window) and Nottingham (new window).
