DIP review
DIP Review implementation programme is putting into place the recommendations from the DIP review.
Summary
The findings of the review of the DIP Delivery Model were published in May 2009. The findings included recommendations to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of DIP.
Recommmendations
Recommendations were accepted in principle by the DIP Delivery Model Review Steering Group. A programme of six workstreams is now in place to take these forward.
The aim is to implement the DIP Review and achieve a step-change improvement in delivery effectiveness. We are very aware of the need to consider very carefully the practical issues involved in implementing each of the specific recommendations.
DIP operational model
The first delivery phase is the formalisation of our target DIP operational model. This model identifies how DIP processes should be delivered to achieve the right outcomes and aims, plus ensure greater local delivery consistency through the use of best practice.
Early versions of the model have been tested in presentation to selected stakeholders including programme board and DIP regional leads.
The model is to be presented across the country during October and November. If you are a local DIP manager, CDRP or other key local stakeholder, then you are welcome to events held in each region. The delivery processes will then be published in a new DIP handbook, available at the start of 2010.
More on the implementation programme
Other parts of the implementation programme include an overhaul of how funding for the delivery of DIP locally if funded. There is also a revision to the performance management system to reflect new operational and funding models.
