DIP key messages

You can use the key messages - a set of 'lines to take' - on the Drugs Interventions Programme (DIP) when drafting articles, talking to the press or for your own literature.

October 2009: Updates to  Overarching and Drug Testing sections and more concise Aftercare section.

You can also download all key messages (PDF).

Management of the programme

Though DIP is delivered at local level, via DATs supported by regional Government Office leads and NTA regional teams, the Programme is driven by a central policy team in the Offender-based Interventions Unit (OBIU). This sits within Drug and Alcohol Directorate of the Home Office.  To ensure that central direction is both ambitious and realistic, the DIP team is made up of a blend of experienced civil servants and practitioners experienced in the frontline of criminal justice services and treatment provision.
