Required (initial and follow-up) Assessment guidance
Guidance on required or follow up assessment for the Drug Interventions Programme (DIP).
Guidance for the implementation of the DIP provisions of the Drugs Act 2005 provides operational process guidance on the implementation of Testing on Arrest, required assessment (RA) and Restriction on Bail provisions (RoB). This guidance updates and replaces guidance published in September 2008. It came into effect on 1 April 2009 and is for use by all areas implementing Testing on Arrest and required assessment (initial and follow-up)

Guidance for non-intensive DIP areas is effective from 1 April 2009.

RA1 is the form to use for written notice of Initial Assessment (bilingual version of RA1)

RA2 is the form to use to vary an appointment time for either Required Assessment (bilingual version of RA2)

RA3 is the form for recording who attended/remained at either Required Assessment (bilingual version of RA3)

RA4 is the form to use to confirm that the client is required to attend and remain for the duration of the follow-up assessment and to confirm the details of that assessment (bilingual version of RA4)

RA5 This is the form to confirm that the requirement to attend and remain for the duration of a follow-up assessment ceases (bilingual version of RA5)
