Terms and conditions

  1. All nominations must complete the nomination form (new window).
  2. Any submissions received via any other means will not be eligible for the judging process.
  3. Nominations must be received on or before midnight on Monday 31 August 2009.  Any entries received after this date will not be eligible for entry.
  4. All nominees must be aged 18 years or over on 31 August 2009.
  5. Entrants must be resident in England and Wales.
  6. If an individual is being nominated under one of the categories they may work alone or as part of a group/organisation.
  7. If a team is being nominated we are interested in how a group of people have come together to make a difference and have worked together to achieve the same objectives.  The term 'team' doesn't necessarily mean they have to work in the same organisation.
  8. Entries will be judged by a Home Office chaired panel.

    • Working with drug misusing offenders
    • Community engagement
    • National Tackling Drugs Week
    • Drug worker of the year
    • Drug team of the year
  9. The judging panel will choose five finalists from each category. From these finalists, two overall winners will be chosen.
  10. Each winner will receive a grant of up to £10,000 for their organisation to spend on continuing, expanding or improving their work in the drugs field.
  11. The judges reserve the right to transfer a nominee to a different category than the one originally nominated against if felt that the nominee would be more suitably placed under another category.
  12. The judges' decision is final and no further correspondence will be entered into.
  13. The winners will be announced on 9 December 2009 at the Tackling Drugs Changing Lives awards ceremony.
