Winner: Operation Warrior: ClevelandThis was an intelligence led operation targeting organised criminal networks operating in Cleveland. Warrior led to the arrest of key targets and the dismantling of a criminal network.
- In total 109 Arrest were made during the operation.
A focus on asset recovery led to inter agency co-operation with the Asset Recovery Agency, Interpol, NCIS, and the Inland Revenue. This has resulted in:
- cash seizures of £240.247
- the seizure of other assets valued at £112,845.
Operation Warrior has achieved a significant reduction in volume crime in the two areas of Cleveland that were targeted.
Commended: Middle Market Drugs Unit: Merseyside
This unit was set up to target middle market traffickers. Using intelligence, enforcement, treatment and education, the unit has achieved success in several operations.
17 operations have now been conducted resulting in:
- 44 arrests
- 1.120kg class A drugs seized
- £138,000 in cash seized
Commended: Cyan; South Wales
Operation Cyan was an investigation into the wholesale trafficking of controlled drugs in South and West Wales area. This was in response to community concern relating to drug misuse and associated criminality.
Cyan’s aims were:
- Identify sources of supply/distribution
- Disrupt/dismantle these networks using quality evidence
- Identify and seize criminal assets
Cyan quickly established the source of the drugs with arrests quickly following.
- 14 people are awaiting trial on conspiracy to supply class A and B drugs
- £121,000 in cash seized.
Cyan’s co-ordinated approach has led to the complete dismantling of a regional trafficking network.
